The Adamawa State Council of the Nigeria Uniin of Journalists (NUJ) has congratulated Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on his victory at the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal on Saturday.
“The judgement which was unanimously endorsed by three jurists and delivered by Justice Theodora O.Uloho put to rest all the political legal tussles and vindicated His Excellency…as the substantive governor of Adamawa State,” the NUJ said in a statememt released by the state council Secretary, Mr Fidelis Jokthan.
The NUJ said it viewed the verdict as divine and in the best interest of the good citizens of Adamawa and beyond.
“The victory also reflected the resilience of the Judiciary in the country to entrenching democratic tenets and the rule of law for a formidable enterprising state like Adamawa and the nation at large,” the union said.
The statement added that in congratulating Fintiri and his Deputy, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta on the landmark affirmation, the NUJ called on all members of the opposition to rally-round “this irrefutable choice of the good citizens of Adamawa state for more flourishing infrastructural development.”
The NUJ equally urged people of the state to be law abiding and prayerful.
“Your Excellency, accept the warmest felicitations of the state chairman, Comrade Ishaka Donald Dedan and all the Council members,” the NUJ told the governor.
