The ceremony, held at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Yola, was attended by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, outgoing chairmen of the state’s 21 local governments, commissioners, members of the House of Assembly, and other dignitaries.
The oath was administered by the Chief Justice of Adamawa State, Justice Hafsat Abdurrahman.
Speaking on behalf of the newly elected chairmen, Yola North Chairman Barrister Jibril Ibrahim commended Governor Fintiri for conducting free and fair elections, describing his achievement as unmatched in Nigeria.
He pledged that the new administration would prioritize development across the state over the next three years.
In his address, Governor Fintiri congratulated the 21 new local government chairmen and 226 councillors, noting that his administration has held four local government elections in seven years—a feat previous administrations failed to achieve, reflecting its commitment to constitutional democracy.
He reminded the new officials that they would be accountable for their responsibilities, urging them to serve as champions for the poor and as visible symbols of government at the grassroots.
He further charged them to collaborate with traditional rulers and development area administrators to ensure governance reaches every citizen.
