The Adamawa State Executive Council (SEC) has approved the sum of N55,256,595,280 as supplementary budget for the year 2024.
Mrs Neido Geoffrey Kufalto, Commissioner for Information and Strategy made the disclosure Tuesday in Yola, shortly after the SEC meeting.
The meeting was presided over by the state Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta.
Kufalto said the approval of the supplementary budget is part of government commitment to ensure no ongoing project stops halfway.
In her words, “We have a working governor who does not want to start work and stop before it is completed.
“That is the reason why SEC called for emergency meeting to approve the supplementary budget,” she explained.
In his remark, Mr Emmanuel Piridimso, Commissioner for Budget and Planning, said the approval was sequel to the receipt of another inflow of funds to the state.
“The state had another inflow of funds, hence approval of the supplementary budget.
“There are projects that are hitherto not included in the 2024 budget, but with the inflow they are now added to the budget,” he explained.
