Adamawa state government says it is expending resources, time and energy to boost sports and administrative skill in the sports industry.
It is against this backdrop, the state in collaboration with National Institute for Sports, Lagos is hosting a 5-Day Capacity Training Workshop for coaches, sport administrators, game masters and physical and health education teachers in the state.
Inaugurating the training Tuesday at General Murtala Mohammed College Yola, the state Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta, said government is coordinating the capacity building training in view of its significance to the heart of the present administration.
Farauta urged the participants to step down knowledge acquired to discover young talents at the grassroots and reinvigorate youth energy in the sector.
“Our hope is to ensure that the state benefits from the workshop, because we have put resources time and energy in sports.
“Government is solemly behind the sporting industry in the state. I hoped the 5-day training would not be a waste,” she said.
Professor Olawole Moronkola, Chief Executive Officer National Institute of sport lagos, stated that the training is targeted at improving officiating skills of the participants aimed at revamping the sport sector.
The Commissioner for Youth and Sports Barrister Wali Yakubu, urged the participants to take advantage of the training to compete with their counterparts
