Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has taken the oath of office as the fifth democratically-elected Governor of Kogi State.
Ododo was sworn in by the Kogi State Chief Judge, Justice Josiah Mejabi, at the Muhammadu Buhari Civic Centre in the state capital, Lokoja.
He was administered the oath of office at exactly 2:27pm after his Deputy, Elder Joel Salifu Oyibo, who had earlier taken his turn at 2:18 pm.
The oaths were administered amid cheers from a mammoth crowd of personalities.
Vice President Kashim Shettima represented President Ahmed Bola Tinubu during the ceremony.
Born on February 7, 1982, Usman Ododo was Kogi State auditor-general for local governments before he ventured into the state governorship run.
Ododo studied Accounting at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and then got his PhD from the University of Lagos.
