Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has poured encomiums on his Chief of Staff, Government House Yola, Dr. Edgar Amos Sunday as he clocks 60 years and bows out of the Adamawa State civil Service.
Fintiri said hardwork and selfless service to humanity elevated him to various high positions in the civil service.
Represented by his deputy, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, the governor stressed that Amos is a dependable leader who always delivers on any responsibility given to him.
Governor Fintiri wished him all the best, praying God to open more doors of blessings upon him.
The chairman of the occasion, Mr Boss Mustapha, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), described Dr Edgar Amos as a lion in pursuing his objectives and a sheep in patience with people.
He prayed for God’s wisdom and grace, urging people to work on strengthening the established unity amidst ethno-religous diversity.
Professor Umar Pate, the Vice Chancellor (VC) of the Federal University, Kashere, Gombe State, in his lecture, ‘Identity, Diversity and Solidarity: Case for a National Praxis’, said achieving national unity and integration in diversity revolves around equality for all, equity, fairness, social justice, and good governance.
He reiterated the need for framework for proper management of ethno-religous society like Nigeria to achieve a united, peaceful and developed nation.
In his vote of thanks, the celebrant thanked God for His mercy, guidance, protection and grace thus far, extending his appreciation to friends, family and associates for their support.
Dr Amos is a doctor of veterinary medicine.
He started his career as a veterinary officer II in the defunct Gongola State civil service in 1991 and rose through the ranks to become permanent secretary in the Ministry of Rural Infrastructure and Community Development.
