– Says There Was “NO” Sitting to that Effect at the Council Chamber
Five out of ten Councilors of Gombi local government area of Adamawa State have denied any alleged plot to impeach their chairman, Hon. Abdulrahman Dauda Magu as they are not aware of the said legislative council meeting.
This position of the councillors was made public 24 hours after 5 councillors from the area allegedly issued a statement declaring that they have impeached the Gombi council chairman.
A statement signed and addressed to relevant authorities by the Five (5) councilors which includes; Hon. Suleiman Umar Babayi of Gombi South, Hon. Hussaini Shehu Ngada ward, Hon. Tanimu Isa Tawa Ward, Home. Mathew Yusuf Guyaku ward and Hon. Filibus Wesley of Boga/Dingai ward and made available on Friday, the councillors said was no sitting to that effect on Thursday 25th January- 2024
According to them, the purported impeachment of the Gombi council boss is null and void.
When contacted the council chairman Gombi local government Hon. Abdulrahman Dauda Magu described all the purported impeachment as untrue and laughable, said there was no sitting that took place at the legislative council chamber.
He therefore called on the relevant authorities, people of Gombi, his teeming supporters and other well wishers to disregard the rumours going round as he remain the Executive Chairman of Gombi local government council.
Hon. Abdulrahman also reiterated his loyalty to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Speaker and Members of the Adamawa State House of Assembly as well as the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) at all levels for the overall development of the state.
