Adamawa Pledges Sustained Education Funding as World Bank’s BESDA-AF Project Enters Final Phase

The Adamawa state government, has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to quality, inclusive and equitable education to all it citizens.

The state Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta reaffirmed government’s commitment, when
World Bank’s BESDA Additional Financing (BESDA-AF), officials visited her office Thursday in Yola.

Farauta enumerated that, government has
given education it desired premium in the state.

“Government had made education its front banner, from basic to higher level available to every child in the state

‘We would take sensitization very serious, which we have been doing in the state.

“If government can pay children WAEC and NECO fees free, I don’t think parents have reasons keeping their child home.

“Government would ensure every child of school age goes back to the school environment.

“We tell people, that every child is potential leader and the child on street of Adamawa could be the next president over you, who knows. she added.

Earlier, the National Program Coordinator BESDA AF Mr Aleshin Olumagowa said they were in the state to access achievements, status and address gaps as well as ensure sustainability of BESDA-AF project as its round up in October this year

The Coordinator advocated for more sensitazation to raid the street free of school age children in the state

The BESDA Additional Financing (BESDA-AF) is aimed at Transforming Education Systems at State Level (TESS) initiative specifically targeting Oyo, Adamawa, and Katsina (OAK states) to enhance teacher quality, increase equitable access for out-of-school children, and improve literacy.
