The state Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapha Farauta received the Minister of Livestock Development, Idi Mukhtar Maiha on condole visit to government and people of Adamawa state over the recent flood that claimed 29 lives, submerged farmlands and house destroyed
Farauta thanked the minister’s entourage for identifying with people she described as his family members.
She noted the resilience of people in the face of the recent devastating flood, reiterated government vigor providing relief support to those affected to ameliorate their suffering.
She said the disaster was mitigated through the resilience stakeholders, adding that government would always be on its oars in providing humanitarian interventions. Yola
Earlier, the Minister who is from the state, personally handed over condolence letter on behalf of management and staff his ministry, equally commended the proactive measures of the state government in tackling the flood.
He however, urged governments to come up with remedies to put a stop to the perennial flood which occurs yearly.
According to him, the ministry stands with the state in the moment of grief and presented relief materials to victims of the flood.
He said the visit is to comfort one another and to be brothers keepers’ in the true human spirit
