The Adamawa State Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta, her elder brother, Major General Lawrence Ngubane (rtd) were among mourners who paid last tributes to their late aunt Mama Maria Abbas who was buried at Kwa’vuno Waduku in Numan local government area of Adamawa state
Other personalities who identified with the bereaved family include Commissioners, top government functionaries, Mrs Deborah Fwa, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Her Excellency, Mrs Lilian Stephen Nabe, Dr Mary Augustine, Special Adviser, Dr Kennedy Kane, Prof Sofeme Jenson, associates, friends and staff in the office of the Deputy Governor to bid farewell to the sexagenarian amidst tears and eulogies at family compound and cemetery where she was laid to rest.
Reverend Yohanna Todei centered his message on justice and righteousness for no one knows the day, nor the hour of his or her death.
He drew the attention of the living on the dangers of sin, urging them to shun worldly tendencies, change their ways and live a Holy and worthy life.
The clergyman also reminded them that there is time for everything as written in the scriptures; a time to be born and a time to die, a time to celebrate, and a time to mourn, hence the need to fear God.
Sympathizers in their separate condolence messages comforted the bereaved family, praying the demise of mama Maria Abbas to be a unifying force in the family and beyond.
They testified that the deceased has been a very polite, loving and caring mother.
The body of mama Maria Abbas was later committed to earth at the Christian Cemetery, Numan.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Maj-Gen Lawrence Ngubane (rtd) thanked the sympathizers for the show of love and concern in such moment of grief.
The deceased is survived by five children and seven grand children.
