Adamawa State Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, has urged Institute of Business Diplomacy and Financial Management (IBDFM) to bring new members on board with wealth of experience to add value and professionalism to the institute.
Farauta, speaking at the 74th Investiture of Fellowship and Induction of New Members in Yola over the week end, said, “We believe the new members would bring in their wealth of experiences in organizing professional programs.”
Insisting on professional development, she said it is essential for all the members to update their knowledge in line with global best practices.
“You must keep abreast with new knowledge and technology if you want to remain relevant professionally,” she said.
Earlier in his speech, Dr Gado Shehu, president and chairman of the council of the institute, cautioned the new inductees to always align with global best practices in handling financial resources to achieve strategic objectives in cash, liabilities and assets management.
“Your decision to join professional league of this noble institute would offer numerous benefits and privileges for development,” he told them.
The president, represented by Professor Ibrahim Danjuma, pledged premium on ethical standards of the profession and institute’s code of ethics and for sanctioning erring members.
Those conferred with Icon of Diplomatic Leadership and Management award include Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Yayaji Mijinyawa, while Investiture and Leadership Award was received by Professor Ibrahim Umar, Vice Chancellor, Modibbo Adama University (M.A.U) Yola.
The event tagged ‘Corporate Treasury Management Best Practices’, was organized at the School of Nursing and Midwifery Yola.
