Adamawa State Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta has thanked the Judiciary for standing firm in doing what is right.
She particularly appreciates the Supreme Court which Wednesday morning reaffirmed the validity of her joint election with Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.
Reacting to the judgement in Yola, Farauta urged people of the state to join hands with government to bring development at all levels.
She equally thanked people of the state for ensuring peace from the beginning of the election cases from the tribunal to the Court of Appeal and subsequently to the Supreme Court.
According to her, government will now concentrate in developing the state as attention would no longer be diverted.
“We thank those who prayed secretly, openly and individually for today’s verdict. We call on everyone as long as you have interest of Adamawa at heart, to join hands and move the state forward,” the deputy governor said.
Meanwhile, there was wild jubilation across Yola which greeted the judgment of the Supreme Court.
Crowds were seen on major streets carrying Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flag, celebrating the Supreme Court judgement.
The popular Bank Road was brought to a standstill and Dougirei Road, leading to the Government House gate was blocked due to heavy crowd celebrating the victory.
