Adamawa State Deputy Governor Kaletapwa Farauta has tasked custodians of Mba Por traditional festival to preserve the culture for younger generations.
Speaking in Demsa Saturday during a visit to flag off Mba Por, the deputy governor said culture unites people of different backgrounds for peaceful coexistence.
She urged youths not to shy away from home, adding, “Youths should embrace culture. They should always visit their home, because that is their roots.”
Mba Por is an annual traditional and cultural festival of the Mbula people, celebrating the prominence and affinity of the people to their culture.
The first Mba Por was organized 1800 by the then Chief priest of Mbula Kuli, Hama Sabba to mourn the death of distinguished combat horse, which was always taking the lead in the battle and the cavalry always had victory whenever the horse participated in a mission.
