Adamawa state Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta has asked North-East governors to agree on a common ground minimum wage, where governance would thrive and people would be happy with their leaders.
Speaking at the Tripartite National Minimum Wage Committee public hearing held in Yola on Thursday, Farauta said there is no figure payable to civil servants that is comfortable, in view of the current hardship in Nigeria.
She said all that can be done is to come up with agreement looking at resources and challenges in the zone.

Earlier, the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero urged public hearing on the review of national minimum wage to ensure inclusivity for the union to come up with generally accepted wage benchmark for Nigerian workers.
He said the public hearing is necessary to come up with a data from people from the zone for a roboost minimum wage.
He assured that the 37 members Tripartite National Minimum Wage Committee would do justice to all manner of presentation as new minimum wage is expected at the end of April this year when old minimum wage time frame expires.
In his remark, Governor of Bauchi State who is also the chairman PDP Governor’s Forum Senator Bala Abdulkadir Muhammed pointed out that renumeration, wages and salaries have suffered over the years, hence the need for the review of the national minimum wage.
He ssid inflation has continued to bite harder on Nigerians, and called on stakeholders and those in power to look at the wage review with sincerity.
