The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), in collaboration with Adamawa state Emergency Management Agency (ADSEMA), has commenced the distribution of relief materials to 1,016 victims of insurgency in Kwapre Community, Hong local government area of Adamawa State.
Mr. Mustapha Habib Ahmed, Director General of NEMA, emphasized federal government’s commitment to intervention in the hardship faced by victims of insurgency nationwide.
The NEMA DG was represented by Mr. Galadima Sam Boyi, Head of Relief and Rehabilitation at NEMA Yola operations office, in the ocassion when food, non food items, and building materials were distributed.
The distribution, targeting 1,016 direct beneficiaries across 178 households in Kwapre, Zaa, and Demna communities, aims to bring relief to those displaced by insurgency in the area.
Simon Yakubu, District Head of Guguba, praised the Federal Government’s support and Adamawa state government and advised beneficiaries to use the materials judiciously.
While expressing gratitude, the leaders of Dabna and Zaa emphasized the need for enhanced security measures, urging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to prioritize Kwapre’s safety and peace for sustainable development.
The flag off ceremony of the distribution symbolized the resilience and unity of the Kwapre community, supported by the state government and NEMA, as they strive for a brighter future.
In her remark, Mrs Heidi Edgar Permanent Secretary overseeing Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency (ADSEMA) appreciated the Federal Government and Governor Ahmadu Fintiri for their support to the victims of insurgency.
