Gov Fintiri Hails EYN Church For Offering Prayers For Adamawa

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has hailed the Church of the Brethren in Nigeria, better known as Ekklesiyar ‘Yan’Uwa A Nigeria (EYN) for their constant prayers for the people of Adamawa state.

The governor, spoke through his Deputy, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta, during this year’s General Church Council meeting otherwise called Majalisa, held at Kwarhi headquarters of the church in Hong local government area of the state

Fintiri said without prayers of the church, development couldn’t have possible in the state.

“My principal Gov Ahmadu Fintiri, sent his gratitude to the church,for prayers not only for government, but for him and is family.

He however, insisted that he is poised to delivering dividends of democracy to all manner of people in the state.

The governor reaffirmed commitment to serving the people, expressed hope that the meeting would transform the church, Adamawa and the nation at large.

The governor encouraged the faithfuls not to be deterred by challenges that comes with development, instead intensify prayers for the stability and prosperity of the nation.

President of the EYN, Rev Daniel Mbaya, disclosed that the church had secured 236.9 hecters of land at the coast of N300 million for the establishment of Brethren University in Muchalla Gombi LGA of the state

Mbaya advised Christians to vie for offices in places they feel convinced that they can make a difference, saying, “Aspire in your various political parties to be leaders at ward, local government areas, state and national levels.”

EYN) Majalisa is the annual General Church Council and the highest decision-making body of the Church of the Brethren in Nigeria.

This year’s theme; ‘peace church in prevailing storm” was attended by brethrens across the globe.
