The Adamawa State Government has approved the award of contract for the construction of Adamawa state International Conference and Event Centre at the sum of N18,972 billion.
The contract was announced by Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr James Iliya, shortly after the State Executive Council meeting Presided over by Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, on Thursday at Government House, Yola.
Iliya said the contract awarded to Messr Lubell Nigeria limited when completed would attract investors, provide convenient meeting centre and increase revenue generation as well as employment opportunities in the state.
He listed the components of the conference centre to include 1,000 capacity multi purpose hall, syndicate rooms, 350 capacity Auditorium, Pre-function gathering area and 100 capacity seminar room.
Other components include; Restaurant/franchise dinners, kitchen and catering, shops and cafes, circulation/access to main function zone, medic support, Ancillary spaces and services security/CCTV operations unit and landscape concourse area.
Equally approved during the SEC meeting is the sum of N1.96 billion as revised Design of popular stand roof and roof covering of Adamawa state stadium complex.
The contract awarded to Messr Aron Nigeria limited is aimed to ensure that the stadium is up to international standard as well as resistant to wind storms.
The SEC also approved the renovation and remodeling of Adamawa State Governor’s Lodge in Kaduna at the same of over N614 million to Messrs Albarka Building Construction Limited.
The state Exco also approved N2 billion as the government counterpart contribution to the Rural Access Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP-SU).
The SEC also banned pasting of posters on public structures in the state, warning that anyone found wanting would face the wrath of the law
