Adamawa state Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta has asked the Agricultural Extension Society of Nigeria (AESON) to explore agricultural potentials through technological means.
Farauta was speaking when Professor Augustine Ndaghu led members of AESON on courtesy call to her office Tuesday.
She canvassed the registration of final year students in the Northeast, through various agricultural departments for easy scaleup to full members of AESON after graduation.
“It is important to ensure that our students are carried along,” she said.
According to her, agriculture is more than just a means of producing food; it is one of the cornerstones to economic development and most importantly, employer of labour, hence the need for innovative processing and storage.
She assured them of support in the forth coming national conference slated for 6-10th April, 2025 in Taraba state.
Leader of the delegation Professor Ndaghu appreciated the leadership contribution of the deputy governor to the present administration in the state.
“You have done AESON and us proud through good representation in the present government,” Ndaghu said.
He presented a letter requesting her as a keynote speaker at the forth coming conference in Jalingo the Taraba state capital.
AESON was formed January 1992 aimed to promote development of Agricultural Extension profession, its research and practice through upholding the educational needs of the farming community for increased productivity and better living.
