The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Adamawa State Chapter has acknowledged the creation of 7 Chiefdoms and Emirates and the subsequent appointment of their monarchs, describing Government action as a right step and timely.
The Association is glad to note how the actions of Government was overwhelmingly accepted by the communities and the state at large, calling on the people to embrace peace and unity, a development that informed the creation of the 7 Chiefdoms and Emirates.
The State CAN Chairman Rev. Dr. Joel Danjuma Manzo, made this known in a statement in Yola in support of the creation of 7 Chiefdoms and Emirates as well as the appointment of Chiefs and Emirs of different class to fit into the positions by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
The statement described the decision of Government as a right step and recipe for a more prosperous and a united Adamawa State.
Adding that the development will not only foster peaceful coexistence and sense of dignity but, will also make community engagement and communication easier and accessible at the grassroots.
“The Association is glad to identify with the decision of Government which aims to strengthened peaceful coexistence and unity amongst diverse ethnic nationalities in the state”.
According to the Christian body the fact that the news for the creation and subsequent appointment of the Emirs and Chiefs was rancor free, signifies acceptance, calling on the subjects to revere and support the appointed Emirs and Chiefs as they pilot affairs of the people in their respective domain.
As the association pray for the Emirs and Chiefs to succeed, it also urged them to discharge their duties with the fear of God and allow justice and fairness prevail in the course of their service to humanity and Government.
