Adamawa Assures Of Qualified Students for FG’s Students Loans Scheme

The Adamawa state Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta has assured of qualified students to benefit
from the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).

Addressing a delegation from the fund, Farauta reiterated government’s commitment to making education affordable to all children in the state, especially those from poor families.

She pleaded that the state should not be left out of federal presence, saying, “Our Governor has made education free up to secondary school level. Education is not left untouched as no individual is left behind”.

According to her, higher institutions in the state are ready to partner the scheme to benefit from it free interest loan.

“Adamawa is ready to produce qualified number of student to benefit from NELFUND” she assured.

Earlier, the Managing Director, Akintunde Sawyerr said the team was in the state to offer student interest free loan who has the capacity or desire to further their education either on academic line or acquisition of skills and vocational qualifications.

Sawyerr said the fund is intervening in the area of insecurity by taking in many part of the country by taking away frustrations born out of lack of education.

“We have seen how expensive when people don’t have education resulting into banditry, insurgency born out of ignorance and frustration,” he added.#
