Adamawa State Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta has commended her Principal, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri who she says has surpassed 35% affirmative action for women’s inclusion in governance.
Farauta, at an interface with Society for Women in Taxation (SWIT) in her office, said the governor had gone beyond expectation in gender mainstreaming as an indication that women are dear to his administration.
“I want to let you know, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri is a women-friendly governor. From what we counted today, we have gone beyond the 35% women are asking for in Adamawa
“We have every reason to appreciate the governor, today we have Deputy Governor a woman and women as vice chairpersons for the 21 LGAs,” she said.
The deputy governor promised to support the womenfolk in the areas of guidance and mentorship.
Earlier, the state Coordinator of the group, Grace Benjamin said the state chapter of SWIT was inaugurated by the national body as an arm of the Chattered Institute of Taxation (CITN) in Nigeria to support the CITN in achieving its objects
Benjamin pointed out, that the vision and mission of the group is to encourage members to participate actively in the institute and other professional tax organizations.
She assured of the readiness of her group to canvass support for women involvement in payment of taxes.
