A business complex comprising seven shops has been destroyed by fire in Numan local government area of Adamawa State.
Trending News gathered on Thursday that fire engulfed the shops in the early hours of Wednesday.
What triggered the fire is still uncertain, but some witnesses said it might have resulted from fluctuation of electricity experienced in the midnight.
Deputy Governor Kaletapwa Farauta who visited the scene, described the incident as a great loss to the Numan community.
Farauta conveyed the heartfelt sympathy of the state government to the victims and the entire Numan community.
Numan local government chairman Christopher Sofore who earlier intimated the deputy governor about the incident, appealed for government’s help to cushion the effect of the fire outbreak on the victims.
Some of the victims who narrated their ordeal, said they had lost all they had to the fire.
They appealed to the government to help in restoring their means of livelihood.
