Dep Gov Farauta Unveils NAPPS Website For School Protection

Adamawa state Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta has unveiled school protection website for the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools for authentication and stamp out illegal private schools in the state.

Addressing participants at the seminar ‘Protection of Schools and Conflicts Resolution’ held at Concordia College Yola, Farauta said the PDP administration has accorded special priority on education in the state.

She said payment of WAEC and NECO fees and free feeding programs to student is evident in the policy direction of rejigging the education sector in the state

The deputy governor, represented by Dr Linah Markus, Permanent Secretary in her office, said government has tackled and reduced insecurity to its minimum to ensure protection of lives and property within and around school environment for teaching and learning to take place.

Markus urged the proprietors to ensure all requirements for registration of their schools are meet as well as establishing synergy ministry of education to maintain standard in the state

He stated that, schools should ensure hygiene environment and report suspicious movements to security agencies at all times.

The state chairman NAPPS, Mohammad Musa said the seminar is to broaden horizons of participants with professional and technical skills of impacting knowledge as well as safeguarding student before, during and after school hours.

Musa, promised that the association, would not compromise standard of education even as he advised members to ensure prompt payment of annual dues to the state government.

“We strongly as an association support, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s quest to move education forward.

“NAPPS, would not allow any school to operate without due processes in the state”

The Adamawa state Commissioner of police, represented by Mr Fekuye Olutede, Deputy Commissioner of Police in his paper ‘Understanding Safety and Security in schools, urged the proprietors to create school environment to avoid incident and accident around school environment

According to him, IGP has marshalled kinetic and non kinetic action plan to checkmate non reoccurrence of school abduction.

He urged the participants to be security cautious at all times.

The state Commissioner of Education and Human Capital Development, represented by Director Quality Assurance of the ministry, Hajiya Amina Idris said government, would calm down on schools that are non compliant in payment of annual dues.
