Adamawa State Executive Council (SEC) has approved N1,302,585,000.00 contracts for agricultural land clearing and cultivation of 300 hecters each in six local government areas for improved food security.

Addressing journalists shortly after SEC meeting in Yola Friday, Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr James Iliya listed Maiha, Michika, Hong, Ganye Demsa and Madagali as benefiting councils.

The State Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa Farauta who presided over the meeting
gave the contractors eight months completion timeframe.

The contracts were awarded to Fortune Thrift and Credit Co, Kachala Multi-Links, Jemtex Books Nigeria Limited, Razaz Nigeria Limited, Cevelco Investment Company Limited and Gongola Group of Company respectively.

The SEC also approved N266,386,014.80 Kobo contract for the procurement of services of a consulting firm for the establishment and deployment of Advanced Biometric Data for all civil servants and pensioners in the state, LGAs Adamawa State Universal Education Board (ADSUBEB) and Primary Health Care Development Agency (PHCDA) in the state.

Iliya said the move is aimed at eliminating instances of multiple salaries beneficiaries to enhance accountability and efficiency in salary administration in the state.

The contract was award to I-Tech Platform Limited with three months completion period.

Also approved at the sitting was procurement of one (1) Brand New Toyota Coster bus 2024 model for Adamawa Queens Football Club
N204,504,000.00 for conveyance of players to matches

The contract was awarded to Westwood Motors limited with delivery period of seven days from the day the contract was signed.

The cabinet further approved contract for supply, Retrofits, Design and Installation of integrated solar street lights at kashim Ibrahim way, Mohammed Mustapha Way and Numan road ( PZ round about to welcome to Yola) Jimeta at the sum N1,331,242,396.16 kobo

The contract is awarded to Messr Blue Camel Energy Limited to be completed within one month from the date of the signing of the contract.

The sum of N295,017,575,63 kobo was also approved for the construction and repairs of failed embankment of Gamu Bridge along Ganye- Toungo road in Toungo local government area of the state

The project was awarded to Messr Triacta Nigeria Limited to be completed within two months.

Meanwhile, approval for contact for purchase of a CF Scan machine for the Specialist Hospital Yola, construction of computer base training center and twine lecture theater blocks at the College of Nursing and Midwifery Yola, construction of administration block, male and female hostels and class rooms/hall at the College of Health Technology Michika at the sum of N3,533,618,987.74 kobo was also approved.
