The Adamawa state Commissioner for Women Affairs Wunfe Birgina Anthony has advocated for gender equality at a thanksgiving service, appreciating God over her appointment as a member of the Governor Ahmadu Fintiri cabinet.
Speaking at a Special service in her honor in Banjiran Guyuk local government on Sunday, Wunfe Anthony declared that she is always satisfied when he sees God gloried in all her activities.
She thanked God for her appointment, for surviving the Cesarean Sections that enabled the birth of all her children, and for escaping death after many accidents in her life.
“I have never physically given birth to a child, but had many children through surgeries. Some of them have graduated from the universities, others about to graduate,” she said.
The Commissioner of Women Affaris encouraged gender friendliness in the society, and urged Nigerians to pray for their leaders
Earlier, the state Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta described the event as a fulfilment of biblical injunction, saying, “Give thanks to God in any situation.”
She advised Christians to imbibe the spirit of appreciating God for all the good things He does in their lives.
In her 2024 message of hope, Farauta added that government is focused towards turning the fortunes of the state and its people for better despite all odds, hence the need for continuous prayers and support to achieve that.
The District Pastor LCCN Banjiram Reverend Eli Bom Gugu who took scriptural reading from Luke 17:11-19, dwelt on the importance of thanksgiving, advising Christians to always give thanks to God, noting that by so doing, it will attract abundant blessings
Present at the thanksgiving service were past and serving Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries, the Bishop of Gongola Diocese Peter Bathmawus, a seasoned politician and Ubandoma Michika Dr. Stephen Maduwa, Member representing Guyuk in the state assembly, Sunday Peter, among other personalities.
