Adamawa State Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta has officially
declared open 2023 Christmas Carol, urging people to use the time for uniting families and nation.
Farauta who inaugurated the event at the Ribadu Square, also prayed for peace and urged clerics not to relent in evangelism as people look up to them for dissemination of word of righteousness.
Farauta prayed for peaceful cross over to 2024 as she promised more development by government to the people of the state
This year’s Christian Carol is on the theme, For Unto us a Child is Born.
The guest speaker, Archbishop of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria (LCCN), His Grace Musa Panti Filibus said Jesus Christ bears light that breaks into the darkness, adding that the joyful celebration does not take away the meaning of Christmas.
Most. Rev Dr Dami Mamza, the state chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), who is also the chief host, prayed that this year’s Christmas be full of peace and happiness.
“I pray this Carol will usher us into a blissful Christmas,” he said.
First, second and third lessons were read by Adamawa State Chief of Staff Dr Edgar Amos; Rev Maxwell Kuri and Hon James Shuaibu Barka respectively
A highlight of the event was lighting of the Christmas tree by the Deputy Governor.
Carol songs of praise were conducted by the state LCCN mass choir
President of Emnamu Foundation, Dr Emmanuel Musa donated N5 million to state Christian Association of Nigeria CAN and N500,000 each to Women Fellowship from LCCN and Baptist churches
