Adamawa State Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta was among dignitaries who attended the wedding solemnization of Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Honourable Bathiya Wesley.
The speaker was on Saturday joined in holy matrimony with Faith Ndanacha Polycarp at the St Monica’s LCCN Cathedral, Yola.
Farauta who was the Special Guest of Honour on the occasion, appreciated God for the union between Bathiya and Faith.
She asked the bride to support her husband as a good home maker to enable him discharge his duty as leader of the legislative arm of government.
“As government, we thank God for Mr Speaker’s wedding, even as we pray for blessings for the family. As from today, am sure Bathiya will go home and eat a good meal, so that the setting in the house will not be a burden for him. Government wishes them peace and blessings in their new home,” Farauta said.
The Arch Bishop of LCCN, Most Reverend Musa Panti Filibus congratulated the couple, wishing them all the blessings of a married life.
In a message at the church service, Bishop Shadrack Theophilus tasked the newly wedded couple to build their marriage on love and patience and to be considerate for a happy Christian home.
Dignitaries at the special church service included Hama Bata, Alhamdu Gladson Teneke, and two former Secretaries to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha and Barr Babachir Lawal.
Others included Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Gabriel Dewan; and his Oyo State counterpart, Adebo Edward who doubles as Chairman of Conference of Nigerian Speakers.
