The Adamawa State, Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, has frowned at employers rejecting corps members posted to them.
Farauta spoke at the closing ceremony and passing out parade of the 2023 Batch C Stream 1 orientation course for 1,153 corps members deployed to the state, saying government should provide the enabling environment for corps members to develop their potential.
“I call on corps employers to stop the ugly trend of rejecting corps members posted to their establishments. Rather, you are to accept them and accord priority to their welfare,” she said.
She commended the new collaboration between the NYSC, NNPC and Bank of Industry to train corps members on financial literacy.
“This is a golden opportunity to achieve your financial independence. Therefore, patiently and doggedly go through those stages to qualify,” she urged.
Mr Jingi Denis, NYSC state Coordinator, urged corps members to desist from meddling in local politics.
He enjoined them to undertake personal and group community development service projects that will help to uplift the living standard of the host communities.
