Adamawa state Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta has advocated expansion of Food and Agriculture Organization training
to cover the state.
Speaking in her office when FAO delegation visited her, Farauta
saluted interventions of the organisation in the state which has continued to positively impact the citizens.
According her, FAO
programmes align with the human capital development of the present administration, especially in agriculture and other sectors.
The deputy governor stressed that malnutrition would be addressed through engaging women in agricultural activities.
Earlier, Nigeria’s country represented and Leader of the FAO delegation Dr. Hussaini Gadain said the graduands were trained in poultry production, animal husbandry, cattle fattening.
Gadain expressed gratitude to government of Adamawa for it support saying the beneficiaries capacity building training were drawn from across the state.
He said the successes recorded, including fertilizer distribution, seeds, training on new agricultural practices among others.
Dr. Gadain noted that their intervention is complementary to government programs which are people centric.
