In a bid to improve on its service delivery to patients across the board, Iya Abbas Foundation has donated medical items to Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital (MAUTH), Yola.
Items donated include medical aprons, insulin, syringes, among other items.
The Iya Abbas Foundation has been supporting the less privileged through sponsoring of Free Medical Outreach, Scholarship, Feeding the Needy among other basic needs to the less privileged in Adamawa State.
Speaking while presenting the items to the MAUTH Management on behalf of Iya Abbas Foundation, Alhaji Abdul Azeez Muhammad Iya, said the IAF’s mission is to impact lives and communities positively, and the donation of the medical items is part of its objectives
While encouraging the recipients to effectively manage the medical items, Abdul Azeez Iya emphasised the significance of community engagement, saying that, Iya Abbas Foundation is contributing to improved access to quality healthcare services for all the people of Adamawa and Nigeria as a whole.
Receiving the items, the Chief Medical Director, Modibbo Adamawa University Teaching Hospital,Yola, Professor Adamu Bakari Girei, appreciated the IAF for the gesture and promise to use the items judiciously.
The CMD also urged other Individuals and Foundations to borrow a leaf from the IAF and support the efforts of the government and the Teaching Hospital towards providing quality health care to the citizens.
The presentation of the medical items was witnessed by the Islamic Medical Association of Nigeria (IMAN), Adamawa Chapter, through Dr Aliyu Mahmud Talba, during which he appreciated the Iya Abbas Foundation for the gesture.
