Why College of Agriculture Ganye was Renamed -Farauta

Adamawa state Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta says government will continue to support the state College of Agriculture, Science and Technology in Ganye.

She told the governing council of the institution on Monday that the government is determined to strengthen academic excellence in the institution.

Receiving members of the Council who paid her a courtesy visit, she said the change in the nomenclature of the institution from College of Agriculture to College of Agriculture, Science and Technology is to incorporate technology programs

“Government took decision of upgrading the college to ensure the institution competes with other schools nationwide,’ she added.

Earlier, chairman of the governing council, Professor Iliyasu Audu made case for take off grant as well as accreditation of some courses for increased admission of students.

He commended the commitment by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri in providing facilities for the college as well as appointing the leadership of the college from and within the institution.

He listed signing the bill into law for the change of the college name, provision of school buses, approving interventions from organizations such as NEDC, L-PRESS as some of the feats achieved.##
