The member representing Demsa/Numan/Lamurde federal constituency Rt Hon Kwamoti B La’ori has been elected national president of Planned Parenthood Federation of Nigeria (PPFN).
The PPFN is a premier national healthcare provider and a leading advocate for Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) in Nigeria. Established in 1959, it was created to address critical reproductive issues such as unwanted pregnancies, child abandonment, and unsafe abortions.
PPFN is dedicated to preventing and treating HIV/AIDS, malaria, and maternal and child healthcare in collaboration with partners like UNFPA, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Society for Family Health, Plan International, MacArthur Foundation, and the Federal Ministry of Health.
Chief Kwamoti, who has previously served as State Secretary, Zonal Chair, and NEC member, has been sworn in as National President following a closely contested election held today at Cinderella Hotel, Abuja.
In his acceptance speech, Chief Kwamoti La’ori expressed gratitude to the NEC Members and Delegates for their confidence in him.
He promised to dedicate himself fully to the service of the organization and the betterment of humanity.
