The Adamawa State House of Assembly has passed a bill amending the Adamawa State Environmental Protection Agency Law Number three of twenty twenty one, which modifies the qualifications for the positions of Executive Director and Secretary of the Agency.
The bill’s passage followed a motion by the Majority Leader and Member representing Demsa Constituency, Kate Raymond Mamuno and was seconded by Member representing Michika Constituency, Moses Yerima during the House’s Tuesday plenary session, which was presided over by Speaker Bathiya Wesley.
Following the successful passage of the bill, Speaker Wesley directed the Clerk of the House to prepare a clean copy for the Governor’s assent.
In the same plenary session, the House received a report from its Committee on Education regarding a bill to amend and establish the Adamawa State Teachers Service Commission.
The report was presented by the Chairman of the House Committee on Education, Adum John, who represents Uba/Gaya Constituency.
Also, the House received reports from its Committee on Health and Human Services on two other significant bills.
The first is a bill to establish the Adamawa State Health Supplies Management Agency Law, twenty-twenty four, and repeal the Adamawa Essential Drugs Programme Edict of nineteen ninety six.
The second is a bill to repeal the Adamawa State College of Nursing and Midwifery Law Number two of twenty seventeen and to re-enact the Adamawa State College of Nursing and Science Law.
The reports were presented by the Chairman of the Committee on Health and Human Services and Member representing Leko/Koma Constituency, Bulus Geofrey.
Speaker Bathiya Wesley has referred the reports to the House Standing Committee on Rules, Business, and Ethics to schedule the reports for consideration during the next legislative sitting.
