Adamawa state Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa Farauta says appointing members of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) into the state cabinet demonstrates inclusivity in governance.

Trending News reports that at least one of the commissioners in the state cabinet was picked from the NULGE family.

Speaking to the National leadership of NULGE on Monday at Government House Yola where the leadership presented an awrd to Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, Farauta said the state is five years ahead of others on local government financial autonomy.

“We are glad that today as other states are struggling to reach that level, we will add a block on top of what we have been doing in the past five years.”

Earlier, Comrade Ambali Olatunji Akim, president general of NULGE, said Governor Fintiri deserves award for prompt payment of salaries and allowances to local government staff.

Akim enumerated conduct of three local government elections within the span of five year as some of the reasons for the award.

He pledged the union support as well as lauding composition of local government service commission for quality assurance at local level

He said the union identifies with his achievements in all spheres of life, administrative skills and sterling leadership, hence the recognition.
