Kwete Festival: Adamawa Dep Gov Challenges Youths on Productivity

The Adamawa State Government has
appealed to youths to develop and utilize their productive life towards state, national development.

The state Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta made the appeal at the weekend in Lamurde during Kwete Festival, organized ahead of anticipated new rainy season.

Farauta charged the citizens to embrace dry and rainy season farming for food security.

“We are most grateful to God for keeping us as a people, state and nation to witness the 2024 Kwete cultural festival. I thank the royal father of Bachama Kingdom for relative peace in Bachama kingdom,” the deputy governor said.

She added, “My appeal to youths is to stop idling away time and energy. Let’s channel our energy towards activities that will bring development to our people and our land.

“Government will ensure people go to market and farms without any harassment. This government will ensure that we pay our children’s NECO and WAEC fees.”

The annual Kwete festival was organized to seek blessings for bumper harvest as the new farming season is anticipated.

Highlights of the festival included a local wrestling fiesta, traditional song renditions and folklore competitions, among other activities.

Mr Bulus Daniel, chairman Lamurde local government appreciated people for attending the event.
