A concerned youth group in Mugrarang community in Demsa LGA has described as fake, the news making the rounds that the palliative rice was distributed in spoons in the area.
They said such fake story was a calculated attempt to tarnish the image of the Council Boss Hon. Wenakam Wesley Fwa who has been making efforts to better the lives of the people of Demsa.
In a statement made available to this platform, the leader of the youths, Mr Joseph Markus said the write-up was a sponsored mislead by some disgruntled politicians to cause confusion in the state.
He disclosed that the local government area as its counterparts in the state has only gotten 5575 bags of 10kg rice and wondered how the said news of 50kg bag of rice hoarded was brought about.
He said the distribution of rice in Demsa was quite commendable as it was done in the presence of the state lawmaker representing the area, principal LG officers and other stakeholders among other various security outfits.
He said “this has gotten all stakeholders wondering how the good effort to reach the vulnerable with a bag per household is now being used as something funny.
“Yes some felt due to the large population in Demsa, their community should be allowed to collect theirs, which they received the complete quota going by the well monitored distribution by the Chairman of the local government,” he said.
According to the statement, some families in the particular point decided to use its local arrangements after receiving the one bag per household for further sharing is not a true reflection of our decision.
Markus further stressed “the true videos and images of the one bag par household distributed speaks for itself and anyone trying to underplay this, should have a rethink.”
“The Chairman is focused and cannot be distracted by side talks rather he will continue to reach out as it is the decision to continue with the policies and Programmes of Goernor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri,” he added.
