Adamawa Donates Cash for Petrol Explosion Victims’ Care

The Adamawa State Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta, has given out cash for the medical upkeep of the family of three who suffered burns following petrol explosion in Waduku, Lamurde LGA of the state

Presenting the cash on behalf of the state government, Farauta thanked the medical team and wished the patients quick recovery.

The victims include Christiana Wasin (mother) and two of her children: Zurfi Jibo and Major Jibo who are currently receiving treatment at the Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital, Yola.

The incident was said to have occurred Tuesday night when the fire emanated from a spillage of fuel into a running generator plant when Zurfi Jibo was emptying a drum containing petroleum product stored in a room into a jerrican.

The product, meant for dry season farming, bursted into flame in the transfer process.

Mrs Gloria Boniface, a nurse attending to the patients, said though the patients suffered severe burns, they are still within the golden hour and necessary nursing care is being given to them at the facility.
