Adamawa State Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta has canvassed votes for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Musa Mahmud Kallamu, in Saturday’s assembly re-run for Mayo-Belwa constituency.
Farauta who led a campaign train consisting of the state executive council members, said voting Kallamu means bringing more hands to consolidate on the gains of democracy in the state.
She asked the electorate to come out in large numbers to exercise their franchise, even as she cautioned them to desist from over voting.
She said, “You should deliver all the seven polling units where the bye election will be conducted. You should vote towards delivering PDP and its candidate Musa Mahmud Kallamu at the poll.
The deputy governor reminded them that the PDP-led administration in the state has provided all necessary dividends of democracy, hence the need for the electorate to reciprocate the gesture through their votes.
The speaker of the state assembly, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley and secretary to the state government Barrister Auwal Tukur also canvassed for total support for PDP as it is poised to deliver more dividends of democracy.
They reiterated that Kallamu is a symbol of good representation who has been tested and trusted, hence the show of solidarity by the state government.
The PDP candidate Musa Mahmud Kallamu appreciated the support he has been receiving from his people, expressing commitment to deliver if given the mandate.
Kallamu noted that Adamawa project is the ultimate goal, and he will not compromise the vision of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri when elected as member.
Trending News recalls that the membership election conducted in March 2023 resulted into legal battle.
After the parties involved presented their case, the court of law declared the election for the seat of Member representing Mayo-Belwa in the state assembly as inconclusive and ordered for rerun scheduled for Saturday 3rd February, 2024.
