Team Gombi has emerged winner of the 2024 maiden Adamawa
State Deputy Governor’s Cup competition.
The tournament put together by Prof-FAN Network and Care Foundation, ended with Gombi emerging winner with a lone goal to defeat the host Hong local government area.
The state Deputy governor, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta in her closing remarks
reitrated government efforts to revamping grassroot sports development to foster unity, peace and social integration.
Professor Jebson Sofeme, Special Assistant on Education Reforms thanked government and people of the state for giving youth opportunity to discover their potentials, emphasizing that the fresh air administration will continue to prioritize youth development through sporting activities.
Dr. Nyalas Bartholomew, director contact and mobilization for the games said cooperation, commitment and the support enjoyed from the deputy governor made the success of the tournament historical.
He said the rationale behind the competition was to drive home indivisible society and extend peaceful coexistence to youths irrespective of any divide.
Dr. Nyalas announced that second leg of the program will be organized for Adamawa central and southern zone
The third position was contested between Michika and Maiha which Maiha won 6-0 to emerge third in the tournament.
The tournament was contested among 7-LGAs of Mubi-North, Mubi South, Michika, Maiha, Madagali Hong and Gombi LGAs.
