The Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, has extended his warm congratulations to the newly elected Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), headed by Alh. Hamza Bello Madagali.
Speaking on behalf of the Assembly members, the Speaker expressed full confidence in the new leadership’s ability to navigate the party through the evolving political landscape.
In a statement marking the transition, Rt. Hon. Wesley emphasized that the timing of this new administration is pivotal for the state’s political future:
”Your emergence at this critical time reflects the confidence reposed in your capacity to provide purposeful leadership, strengthen party unity, and advance the ideals of democracy in our dear state.”
The Speaker acknowledged the weight of the task ahead, noting that the journey toward the 2027 general elections requires a focused and inclusive approach.
The Speaker urged the Alh. Hamza-led Exco to prioritize party internal unity.
He signaled the Assembly’s readiness to work alongside the party to ensure good governance and sustainable development.
He reminded the new leaders of their shared duty to remain transparent and service-oriented for the people of Adamawa.
Rt. Hon. Wesley also took the opportunity to praise the leadership of Rt. Hon. Dr. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and other key stakeholders. He noted that the peaceful conduct of the congresses—from the ward level up to the state—is a clear signal that the party is organized and “ready for victory at the polls.”
Closing his message, the Speaker offered prayers for the new executive committee, wishing them a tenure defined by wisdom, strength, and divine guidance as they begin their leadership journey.
