Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state has urged more support from African Development Bank and its mission partners to facilitate post-crisis recovery agenda and livelihood restoration in conflict-affected areas in the state.
The Governor represented by his deputy Professor Kaletapha Farauta made the plea when Joint Supervision Mission led by Mr. Mthokozisi Ncube visited her office Tuesday.
She said the appeal for consideration of additional funding support is necessary to address critical priorities especially in water, education, and livelihood support for women and youth.
“Your continued support will go a long way in sustaining the hope and recovery of many people who have suffered the brunt of conflict and displacement.
“The current realities of our people, especially displaced populations and vulnerable groups-demand urgent delivery of results.
“We respectfully urge all stakeholders, including the PIU, federal partners, and the Bank, to explore ways of fast-tracking disbursements, procurement processes, and overall execution to ensure that the life-changing objectives of IBSDLEIP are realized within the revised timeline.
She reaffirmed government to success of ADB transformative programme in the state, adding
mentorship, technical and training would guaranteed the sustainability of the banks programmes in the state
The team led by Mr. Mthokozisi Ncube lauded state government for its effort towards the success of the life changing programme.
Othe mission partners include team from the African Development Bank, Federal Ministry of Finance, Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation, and the North-East Development Commission.
