The Court of Appeal in Abuja has upheld Natasha Akpoti-Uduagan as the Kogi Central Senatorial Election winner.
Many had been convinced from when the election was held in February that Natasha, a hugely popular woman in Kogi Central, won the election, but she was not so named by INEC.
The story changed finally on Tuesday when the appeal court dismissed Senator Abubakar Ohere’s appeal for lacking in merit.
Ohere who is of the All Progressives Congress (APC), currently represnts Kogi Central in the Senate.
With the ruling, Natasha who is of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is set to replace Ohere, as there is no Supreme Court process in a NASS election matter.
Earlier in September, the Kogi State Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Lokoja had nullified the declaration of Ohere as winner of the Kogi Central Senatorial Election.
Ohere had challenged the tribunal’s decision and headed to the appellate court.
