Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has tasked the first batch of 100 Turkey bound post graduate scholarship students to be good ambassadors of the state during their studies of Master’s degrees in Turkey.
The Governor who was represented by his Deputy Professor Kaletapwa Farauta
reaffirmed government’s commitment to the education sector by investing in human capital development.
Speaking during pre-departure orientation held at the Banquet Hall of the Government House Yola Monday, Farauta urged them to make the state proud by staying away from troubles.
She cautioned them against keeping companies that can lure them into drugs or issues related to insecurity.

“You are expected to be good ambassadors of the state and your families at all times.
The state Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development Dr. Umar Garba Pella said the beneficiaries were under the “Fintiri Win project”, from the 21 LGAs
Pella noted that the scholarship focuses on four discipline including Engineering, ICT, Architecture and medical sciences.
He urged them to be hard work and obey the constituted authority and take advantage of the life changing opportunity.
The beneficiaries were carefully screened based on merit out of the 5,000 students that applied.
Earlier, the Executive Director Adamawa state scholarship trust fund Dr. Joshua Kwanamu described the event as a great milestones in the state.
He commended Governor Fintiri for uplifting standard of the education system, adding the feats recorded in the sector, couldn’t have been possible without purposeful leadership of the state government.
Mallam Salihu Sabana who spoke for the parents lauded Governor Fintiri for changing the narrative of the education sector and the state through people oriented initiatives.
He assured that investment in youth would not be taken for granted.
Mr Trust Joseph, who spoke on behalf of the 100 students emphasized that the gesture is rear privilege and vote of confidence in their potential to develop themselves and the state
He asserted that investment in youth is equally investment in the state, while thanking present administration for according opportunities to further their studies abroad..
