The Deputy Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly and member representing Jada/ Mbulo constituency in the House of Assembly, Hon. Muhammad Buba Jidjiwa, has awarded Six Million Naira scholarship to two hundreds (200) of indigent undergraduates in his Constituency, worth thirty thousand (30,000) naira each for their tertiary education.
Hon Jidjiwa who stated this while fielding questions from journalist on the disbursement of the scholarship through the bank account of the students said he empowered the indigent undergraduates as part of his constituency representation.
The lawmaker added the 2025 scholarship scheme is restricted to students, who are already in institutions of higher learning and must present the admission letter, copy of their Senior School certificate result, indigene letter, birth certificate among other relevant documents.
He said, the purpose of the scholarship scheme is to is to complement the effort of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and boost educational support to indigenous Jada/Mbulo constituency students, and to promote philanthropic spirit among students of the area as a form of motivation and succour to the parents.
The beneficiaries, who were given (30,000) naira each through their bank accounts, cut across all the political wards in his Constituency.
He reiterated his commitment to improving the lives of his constituents, especially the leaders of tomorrow through empowerment, job creations, financial and educational support.
Speaking during the flagging off ceremony in Jada town, Jada LGA, the Chairman Scholarship Committee who is also the Senior Legislative Aide to the Deputy Speaker, Alhassan Bashir Lamu, said that the beneficiaries were drawn from 6 political wards of Jada/Mbulo constituency.
While applauding the Deputy Speaker for reaching out to the students with the scholarship, urged them to judiciously utilised the scholarship awarded to them.
Cross section of the benefitting students who commended the member for the gesture, said that the scholarship awarded to them will go along way in helping them in their academic activities.
The students pledged their support to the Legislator to enable him succeed and also prayed God to reward him abundantly.
