Mayo-Belwa Agog As Farauta Canvasses Support For PDP in Council Poll

Mayo-Belwa was agog Tuesday, as the campaign train of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) led by the state Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta canvassed for votes as the day of the council poll in the state inches closer.

Speaking to the party supporters and campaigners, Farauta asked them to vote PDP candidate Hon Umar Nashon Gubi, for continued development.

She said that for roads, hospitals, schools and other infrastructure to get across all the 21 local government areas, PDP has to be voted from top to the bottom.

She said, “I urge Mayo-belwa to come out enmass on saturday and vote PDP’s John Umar Gubi for more dividends of democracy.

“Please, ensure peaceful conduct of saturday’s local government elections as well as the party’s victory. Governor Fintiri’s administration will continue to ensure the yearnings and aspirations of the masses are prioritized at all times.”

The State Chairman of PDP, Barrister Tahir Shehu who appreciated support from people of Mayo-belwa, said the party would ensure more development is brought to the local council.

Shehu told the chairmanship candidate to carry women and youths along when voted into power.

In his remark, the chairmanship candidate Umar Gubi promised to build on his past experiences to develop the council.
