SEN IYA ABBAS REDEEMS 10 MILLION NAIRA CASH PLEDGE TO VICTIMS OF YOLA MARKET FIRE DISASTER

The Senator Representing Adamawa Central Senatorial District, Aminu Iya Abbas, has presented the donation of the sum of  N10 Million to the victims of Yola market fire disaster with a call on them to take the incident as an act of God. 

The Senator made call during the presentation of the cash assistance to the affected traders, performed by the committee set up to ensure judicious disbursement of the donation he made during his visit to the market. 

Presenting the cash assistance to the beneficiaries, the Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Adamu Baba Mustafa, said the assistance was in different categories depending on the nature and magnitude of the losses recorded by the individual traders.

Hon. Adamu Baba, explained that they had done a thorough job as directed by Senator Iya Abbas in order to ensure that only those affected by the calamity benefit from the gesture.

He said the committee alongside the representatives of the market traders took time to scrutinize the affected areas by the inferno in order to ensure the effective coverage of all the victims.

In address the Northern Nigerian Traders Association, Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammed 86, expressed gratitude to Senator Aminu Iya Abbas for the gesture, saying that, has proved that he has the people of Yola Market at heart. 

Also speaking, one a Yola base businessman and close political associates to Aminu Iya Abbas Alhaji Mustafa Njoboli, told the victims that, what the Senator is giving to them is not a compensation but an assistance for those affected to at least have some capital to start again. 

Earlier in his welcome address the Chairman Gamzaki Traders Association, Yola South Branch Alhaji Ali Kachalla, assured that the monies given to them would be judiciously utilize for the overall development of Yola market and the State in general. 

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Malam Rabi’u Layin Sarki Kasuwa commended Senator Abbas for redeeming his pledged, adding that, the gesture will assist in cushioning the hardship cause by the incident and pray to God to reward him abundantly.
