In continuation of his support to victims of flood disaster in Yola and other parts of the state, the senator representing Adamawa central sentirioal district, Aminu Iya Abbas joined the state government on Saturday and present more relief materials to the affected communities.
The assistance, according to the Senator, was to complement government’s efforts in bringing relief to those affected.
The senator who was represented by a member of his 2023 senatorial campaign council and PDP critical stakeholder in Yola south, Hon. Adamu Baba Mustapha, monitored the distribution across the designated centers alongside other members of the AIA Media Group.
Iya Abbas while reaffirming his commitment towards providing basic needs to the people of his constituency, said more assistance are coming from relevant authorities to assist them during their trying moment.
Senator Abbas, appreciated Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, his Deputy Prof. Kaletapwa Faruta, the National Emergency Management Agency NEMA, North-East Development Commission NEDC, Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency ADSEMA and other relevant government and non govermental organizations for their timely support to the victims.
While calling on the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the items donated also urged those who resides along riverbanks to take precautionary measures in order to avoid future flood disaster.
Speaking separately in an interview some of the benefiries appreciated the Adamawa state government, Senator Iya Abbas and donors for their support.
