Sen Abbas calls for Compassion on Islamic New Year

The Senator Representing Adamawa Central Senatorial District and Chairman Senate Committee on Science and Technology, Aminu Iya Abbas, on Sunday congratulated Nigerians, as well as the Muslim Ummah, on the New Year 1446 and the commemoration of the migration (Hijra) of Prophet Muhammad from Makkah to Madinah.

Abbas ’s congratulatory message was contained in a statement by his Special Assistant on Media and Public Affairs , Ahmad Muhammad Danyaro.

According to the statement, Abbas said, “On the occasion of the Islamic New Year, and the commemoration of the Hijrah, I urge Muslims and other citizens to imbibe the lessons of compassion, peace, tolerance and support for one another. I wish all Muslims a blessed year.”

The Senator urged Muslims to reflect on the importance and historical significance of the Hijra and the overall teachings of the Holy Prophet and follow his examples.
He express aspirations for “peace, tranquillity and prosperity ” in the new year.
