The Night of the Makers has honored Distinguished Senator Aminu Iya Abbas, representing Adamawa Central Senatorial District, as The People’s Politician of the Year.
This prestigious award, presented at Lelewal Hotel Yola, recognizes Senator Abbas’s outstanding contributions to democracy, good governance, service to humanity, advocacy for transparency, accountability in governance, and commitment to empowering youths and promoting education.
Senator Abbas, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Science, Innovation, and Technology, has driven innovation, education, and sustainable development in Adamawa Central Senatorial District. He has initiated impactful programs, providing financial support to underprivileged students.
Responding to the award, Senator Abbas expressed gratitude to the Night of the Makers and the people of Adamawa Central, reaffirming his commitment to continue serving them with dedication and passion.
The award ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including Dr. Edga Amos Sunday, Chief of Staff, Government House Yola; Barr. Kwamoti Laori, Member Representing Numan Demsa and Lamurde Federal Constituency; and other top government officials, lawmakers, academicians, and civil society representatives.
Other awardees included Professor Ibrahim Umar, OON, as Leading Educationist of the Year; Siddiki Liman as Outstanding Project Manager of the Year; Professor Maxwell Gidado, SAN, as Culture and Unity Promoter of the Year; Mr. Williams Kamale as Innovative Leader; Mr. Tom Garba as Outstanding Journalist of the Year; and USAKU FM YOLA as Best Radio Station of the Year.
