Adamawa state government has embarked on monitoring of private and public schools to ensure compliance to the school closure directive to mitigate the spread of meales in the state.
The team which visited numbers of school discovered academic activities were on at Aliyu Mustpha Academy, Condodia College, despite the order by the state government.
Mrs Aisha Umar, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, said the exercise is to ensure students are immunized against the disease.
Umar warned that, government would not hesitate to sanction any school that defy the directives in the state.
Authority at Kingdom heritage model school and Col. Isa Ahmed Memorial School have fully complied with the order.
Abduljalal Abubakar, Disease Surveillance and Monitoring Officer, ministry of health emphasized that the exercise is necessary as a measure to prevent the disease.
Abubakar said the state had 25 active cases for now without any causality.
Barrister Amanda Pam, Proprietor Aliyu Mustapha Academy and Martin James, Principal Concordia College promised to comply with the new order.
